As a result, several countries and international organisations have adopted and prioritised policies aimed at protecting the environment and, in particular, averting climate change, which has become an increasingly significant issue in today’s world.

The purpose and scope of the ‘Environment’ portfolio at WEglobal is to:

• Provide technical assistance to countries to help them address international environmental and climate challenges more effectively.
• Fully integrate environmental requirements and considerations into other policies.
• Build the capacities of relevant institutions/authorities.
• Help countries build resource-efficient, green and competitive low-carbon economies.
