Introduction

Globally, transport and mobility systems are undergoing a shift towards sustainability. As the world’s population increases, and globalisation and urbanisation continue to intensify, transporting people and goods gains more importance. As the transport sector is one of the largest contributors to greenhouse gas emissions; with the increasing environmental and climate change concerns, the response of the sector is also becoming smart and sustainable. As WEglobal, we also take part in the transformation of the sector, mainly in the field of sustainable urban mobility planning (SUMP).

As WEglobal, we provide consultancy surrounding all aspects of transport, including sustainable urban mobility, stakeholder engagement, capacity building, behaviour change initiatives, grants guidance and legal approximation. We put our efforts into establishing efficient, safe, inclusive and environmentally friendly systems compliant with the European and other well-recognised international standards.

WEglobal supports the “Mobility of Blind People in the City” within the European Mobility Week

On 25th September 2021, HelpZone, an NGO that supports social development and development of individuals including vulnerable groups, organised the “Mobility of Blind People in the City” themed nature walk and biking event in Eymir Lake. The event, that gathered the blind citizens living in Ankara, took place within the scope of European Mobility Week and under the sponsorship of WEglobal. The walking and biking activity was followed by a moderated discussion on the mobility and accessibility challenges blind people face in their daily lives and the associated rights they have.

The event was also part of the global EUROPEANMOBILITYWEEK campaign, registered at the website of European Mobility Week.
