Entrepreneurship Competition Award Ceremony was held on 25th November 2021 in Mardin with 180 people within the scope of the Technical Assistance for Promoting Youth Employment in TRC3 Region Project.
The project aims to increase the policy capacity of local actors and stakeholders by enhancing skill levels of the youth through vocational training in numerous fields and supporting youth employment in the TRC3 sub-region of Turkey, which contains Mardin, Batman, Şırnak and Siirt provinces.
The Entrepreneurship Competition was held for the first time in the TRC3 region. The competition awarded new business ideas and business plans with the objective to also foster and accelerate the start-up phase for new ventures. Sixty-seven people applied for the competition. The project team evaluated and analysed all applications, and the awards were handed over to their owners in the award ceremony.
DİKA General Secretary Ahmet Alanlı, EU Delegation to Turkey Programme Manager – EU Policies Tsvetana Stoycheva, WEglobal Quality Control and Assurance Manager Anıl Selvi made opening speeches at the award ceremony.
In the first panel, Startup Centrum Co-Founder Sami Harputlu, Individual Technology Investor Hande Enes and Technology Communicator Sertaç Doğanay talked about the entrepreneurial spirit and the challenges they face when starting a business.
After a coffee break, Project Team Leader Cleofe Guardigli, KOSGEB Mardin Provincial Deputy Director Onur Şahin and Head of Employment Policies İbrahim Demircan advised the participants about finding a good job and career planning.
Before the winner of the competition was announced, Writer Aslıhan Dağıstanlı Aysev and Leap Naturel Development Specialist Emel Demirel Andrews gave motivational speeches for the young participants.
The best three entrepreneurship ideas were awarded in the competition. The winners are from Mardin, Şırnak and Siirt. The winners are awarded to a 1-month internship in a successful company outside the TRC3 region. The audience attended with great interest the whole ceremony
