“Strengthening of an Integrated Strategic Approach to Increase the Efficiency and Productivity of IPA Funds during the Third Period” project has started!
The Opening Conference of the “Strengthening of an Integrated Strategic Approach to Increase the Efficiency and Productivity of IPA Funds during the Third Period” project was held on 7 July 2021 and hosted by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Director for EU Affairs Ambassador Faruk Kaymakcı.
The event was held both live in-person and online with the participation of Head of the EU Delegation to Turkey Ambassador Nikolaus Meyer-Landrut and the Director-General of Financial Cooperation and Project Implementation Bülent Özcan alongside Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Director for European Union (EU) Affairs, Ambassador Faruk Kaymakcı.
Following the opening remarks, panels and presentations introducing the IPA III period and two workshops were held on “Programming of 2021-2022 financing years of IPA III” and “Project Implementation and Tendering Preparations”.
The Conference brought together the representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the European Union Delegation to Turkey, diplomatic missions of member states of the EU to Turkey, public institutions responsible for management and control of IPA funds in Turkey, IPA Beneficiaries, and other stakeholders from the public and civil society sectors and media representatives.
This project’s main objective is to increase and consolidate the Turkish administrations’ management capacity to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the EU’s financial assistance to Turkey. WEglobal will help strengthen the managerial and technical capacity of the NIPAC Office, NAO and other relevant institutions to ensure overall coordination of strategic planning, the new programming framework, implementation, monitoring, evaluation and reporting of EU assistance under the national IPA (Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance) programme.
