The Opening Ceremony of the Sixth Phase of the Civil Society Dialogue between Turkey and the EU and the Third Phase of the Civil Society Support Programme implemented by the Directorate for EU Affairs within the framework of the Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance (IPA) was held on October 8, 2021, in İstanbul.
In the event’s opening session, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Director for EU Affairs, Ambassador Faruk Kaymakcı assessed the Turkey-EU relations through an online survey.
Head of Financial Cooperation of the European Union Delegation to Turkey Ambassador Undersecretary Andre LYS said: “Civil Society Organizations contribute to the development of dialogue in many fields between Turkey and Europe.” He congratulated the grant beneficiaries who carried out the projects selected among hundreds of projects.
Group games and competitions were held in the program, in which representatives of non-governmental organizations participated and moderated by İlker AYRIK, Member of the Board of Directors of the Laughter Heals Association, Presenter and Actor. The event aroused great interest from the participants and civil society organizations.
Under Civil Society Dialogue VI and Civil Society Support Programme III , 67 grant projects with a total budget of approximately 8 million Euros in different thematic areas, including environment, culture and arts, education, vulnerable groups, and the business world are being carried out by the civil society organizations in Turkey and the European Union.
